One of the most beautiful towns of the Argolic land as in the whole of Greece, the town of Nafplio was built according to mythology by Nafplios, son of Poseidon and Danaida Animoni. The first capital of the newly formed Greek state was named by the Venetians as “Napoli of the East”. The citizens of Naplio called it Anapli.
Starting point in Nafplio, the Old Town with its beautiful neoclassical and Venetian buildings, balconies with blooming bougainvillea, imposing churches and ottoman fountains, all charming historical and architectural jewels.
