Arvanitia Beach
Arvanitia beach is the most popular beach in Nafplio, just a 10 minute walk from anywhere in the city. It stretches below Palamidi, has an area of about 200 meters,
and is a cool little beach that is suitable for swimming and carefree moments. It is an organised beach where during the summer season there are cafes, bars and restaurants, changing rooms, showers, and WC. Rental sunbeds and umbrellas are available around the beach (on the rocks). Just before entering the beach, the municipality has installed some fitness equipment. From the left side of the parking lot starts the dirt road that connects the beach of Arvanitia with Karathona. From the right side starts the paved road that connects Arvanitia with the shops next to the sea of the port of Nafplio. This route is called “Tour of Arvanitia” and offers stunning views of the Argolic Gulf.
Karathona Beach
Karathona is located 4 km outside Nafplio, in the direction of the road that leads to Palamidi. Along the coast of Karathona the road is framed by many palm trees, among which there is a large natural parking lot, and the large beach in places consists of small pebbles, tamarisk and sand. The sea is shallow and in many places along it you will find everything you need. This makes it the best solution for families even with small children. Organized refreshments with sunbeds have been developed along the beach. There is also an organized area for beach volleyball as well as a place for water sports.
Tolo Beach
The beach of Tolo or fine sand according to the locals is located just twelve kilometers outside Nafplio in the direction of Tolo next to the small village of Tolo which is one of the popular tourist resorts of Argolida.
The name “Psili Ammos” where the locals call it gives the kind of beach of Tolo.
The sea is crystal clear and the sandy beach is an extensive golden and fine sandy beach.
The seabed is just as sandy with crystal clear waters that impress every bather since you can see even the seabed without a mask.
It is an ideal beach for any kind of visitor but also for families with children as they can play and swim without fear.
The beach of Tolo has been awarded the blue flag many times.
Plaka Drepanou Beach
Plaka Drepanou beach is located 12 km outside Nafplio next to the village of Drepano. The beach has 3 km of coastline, with small and large pebbles and in some parts there is a sandy beach. Its bottom is mainly sandy but at intervals there are some stone slabs from which the name “Plaka” comes. It has many organised beach bars, rental umbrellas with sunbeds and taverns.
Kastraki Beach
Kastraki is a small beach, about 10 km from Nafplio. It is located below the Acropolis of Ancient Asini. The beach has thick pebbles, stony bottom and crystal clear waters. Ideal choice for those who want peace and seclusion.
Saint Nikolaos Beach – Kondili
Kondili is a coastal settlement, about 17 km from Nafplio. It is a big and beautiful beach, for many the most beautiful beach in Argolida. It has sand and small pebbles and turquoise, crystal clear, relatively deep waters with a steep slope. On the left side of the beach is the church of Saint Nikolaos. That is why the beach is also known as “Saint Nikolaos”. A part of Kondili beach is organized with a beach bar, so you will find sunbeds, showers and options for coffee, food and drink.
Kandia Beach
It is located in the village of Kandia, 19 km outside Nafplio. This is a special beach in the prefecture of Argolida. It has crystal clear waters, with dark pebbles and sand and on its shores there are tamarisk trees on which hammocks have been tied. It has umbrellas and a coffee bar and is an excellent choice for all ages.
Iria Beach
It is located in the village of Iria, 24 km outside Nafplio. It is very large in size and quiet. It has a small and thick stone, mixed with sand and its waters are crystal clear. The seabed is mainly sandy and shallow and in various places stony. On its shores there are tamarisk trees, on which hammocks are tied. It is considered suitable for families with children, as it has all the necessary infrastructure, such as coffee, rented sunbeds and umbrellas, shower. The beach is organized in specific places, something that favors those who seek isolation.
